HOW CAN WE BOOK YOU AND DO YOU HOLD DATES?

I work on a first in, first served basis. To secure your date I will require a non-refundable booking fee $800 (weddings) $300 (family) to hold your date exclusively for you. The remainder of the balance can be paid 3 weeks prior to your celebration or in instalments. Dates cannot be held without the booking fee and signed t&c agreement.

how many hours do you think we need?

After 250+ wedding sunder my belt, I can safely say to you that the 8 hour package is my most popular, as it covers getting ready of both parties, right through to your first dance, followed by some dance floor action.

If you want to skip on getting ready or you don't need dance floor shennanigans, the 6 hour package should suit you just fine. Alternatively I offer smaller, micro/elopement packages that are 2 hours and 4 hours.

All of my packages can be customized to your liking, just ask!

WOULD YOU TRAVEL INTERSTATE OR OVERSEAS?

Most definitely! In the last decade I have been lucky enough to document love stories around the country in Tasmania, Hamilton Island, Adelaide and Brisbane, as well as overseas in Italy, Sweden, Greece, Mexico, Hawaii, Bali and Cyprus. I book my travel myself, so you never have to stress! I try to make everything as cost effective as possible, so happy to chat to you about your budget and what you need.

how would you describe your style?

To be invited to the biggest day of your life and hang out with you for the day, now I see this as a tremendous honour and gift. I am sensitive to emotions and I know how to read the room, quite well. I am in the background for the most part, but I am also your biggest helper if I am needed. I will be the one to help you button your dress, hug you when you are nervous, make you laugh with many self deprecating jokes or be your driver for the day. I bring all the relaxed, fun vibes, making sure you have the best day ever.

In terms of my photography style, in the past my work has been described as dreamy, moody and romantic. I am drawn to soft light, human connection and candid, sometimes unseen moments.

custom package?

Absolutely. The packages that are already included in my services are a photography and videography bundle, a photography + album package, an 8 hour (most popular) day, a 6 hour day and two elopement packages to suit your vision and ideas. I am most happy to tailor a specific package for you, just get in touch and let's chat.

WHEN CAN WE SEE OUR GALLERY AND HOW MANY PHOTOS WILL WE GET?

To be quite honest, I don't put a cap number on the images you get. For a full wedding day (8hours) you will approximately receive around 800 photographs. I love to immerse myself into your celebration and I get to know your friends, family and everyone who loves you both so much. I take a lot of photos of your guests! These memories become so important in the future, holding so much meaning and emotion.

For a family session, you also receive all the best images taken at the session! For a one hour session you will receive around 100 images.

My turn around time to finish your gallery is usually 6-8 weeks. It quieter times it will be less and during the busy season it may take a little longer, but I always check in with you and keep you in the loop! I know how excited you are to see them!

where can i see your prices?

Weddings start at $4100 for 6 hours coverage. Family starts at $500 for my mini sessions.

Please feel free to fill out the form on my contact page and I will get back to you within 24 hours. Alternatively, you can email me directly > sofiaflinnphotography@gmail.com

CHOOSING LOCATIONS FOR PORTRAITS

I am always keen to hear your ideas on locations that you might like for your session. For families I tend to work in the comfort of your home or on location. For weddings, I find that staying close to your venue makes it less stressful and saves time you could be spending with your loved ones. I have worked at many venues across Victoria, so I know the good spots already, but the key to great photographs (as cliche as it sounds) is beautiful light and most import, YOU. I want your memories to look and feel unique to you, so that is why I tailor the photography specifically to each individual couple. I always have a few brollies packed in my car also! Photos in the rain are so romantic.

We are quite nervous to have our photo taken, help!

Honestly, this is so normal. I was in your boat during my own wedding photos, "where do I put my hands" was asked quite a bit and I realised how my couples may have felt during their photos. Trust me, I will bring all the relaxed, calm vibes to your day, so all you have to worry about is having the best time with all of your loved ones and your new partner for life.

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT LGBTQI+ COUPLES?

Love is LOVE. It has no boundaries, every couple here is most welcome.

DO WE SPEAK MUCH BEFORE OUR BIG DAY?

I am always here to help with any question you may have. In our initial chat, we go over your ideas and rough plans and I offer you some guidance regading timings and what I have seen works best. You want sunset photos? Done! You want to join your guests for canapé hour (because yes please!), done! You want to have a first look before the ceremony, done and done! I help you plan it all, so the lead up to your day is as stress free as possible.

I love getting to know you both as well as I can, so when we meet we feel like great friends. Please do not ever hesitate to email me, call me or meet up with me!

DO YOU NEED A MEAL AT THE RECEPTION?

If I am working more than 5 hours, yes please! This may be the only time I get to eat during the day (minus the quick banana scoff in the car). It would also be a good idea to ask your venue to feed me at the same time as you, making sure I don't miss any final formalities.

best times for photos? what is the golden hour?

During your wedding day there are two factors that guide me, light and emotion. Some of the most emotional moments happen in the least pleasing of light conditions. Ceremonies in the harsh midday sun, those tight hugs before you leave the house in a dark hallway, so we can plan all we like to maximise the best time of day to have your photos, but at the very core of my work is human connection and documenting those precious fleeing moments, whatever the light or weather may be doing.

If I can make a very important suggestion, try to avoid having your ceremony at midday, so generally between (11am till 2pm) in winter and (morning till 4pm) in summer. If your ceremony has to start earlier for a number of reasons, I can also suggest to have it in the shade. The reason for this is the sun is right overhead and this can result in some extremely harsh shadows on the face, lots of sweating and squinting. Please let me know if you need some guidance to get the best photographs possible for your day.

Last but not least, the prettiest part of the day, the golden hour. It is that one hour before the sun sets, when the sky looks like cotton candy, your skin is sun kissed and everything is just ‘oh so lovely. I always encourage my couples to pencil in at least 10minutes to go and enjoy this lovely time together on your wedding day.
